Basketball Shoes

They Say that its all about the shoes and that if you wear the special Basketball Shoe you will be the best Basketball Player ever. Well I hate to say it but to be the best basketball player ever you need to do lots and lots of Basketball Drills and wear the right shoes. So its not all about the shoes eh? Well I used to think it was when I played basketball in high school. I saw the starters and I saw what shoes they were wearing and I wanted to get the same shoes because I thought it would make me as good as them.

It wasn’t till I got to know them better that I found out they were so good because they practiced alot. They had fathers that had played basketball in their childhood and knew a thing or two about the sport. They coached their kids and that was one reason why they were so good.

So some things to look for when looking at shoes.

  • I would first and foremost look at how the shoe fits. Don’t pay attention to mainly just the length of the shoe but also the width. Not all feet are the same width and you need to consider that too when you are shopping.
  • Consider the weight of the shoe. Obviously you want to jump higher than your competitor so you don’t need extra weight in your feet dragging you down.
  • Get the proper support. You don’t want to twist an ankle out on the court so get a nice high-top shoe that supports your ankle well.
  • Are you going to be playing inside or outside basketball? This is a good question to ask yourself because you don’t want to tear up a pair of shoes that were meant for the insde court and you also don’t want to wear outside shoes on an inside court because it will wear down the finish.
